I had three deadly death caps in my grasp recently. Picked them up in Charleville Forest and brought them home wondering what specimen I had. They looked so healthy and almost inviting. I could have fried them up in the pan in an instant, relished the aromas and lapped up the succulent morsel but that would have been the end. It might have taken a few days but eventually the liver would have come under serious stress and ceased to function. Then Death would occur (I might not be writing this piece at the moment -- oOOOOH NO. Let me pinch myself and make sure that I didn't eat those deceptive flirts!!!) Phew!!! It's good to be alive!!!
